Although I'm in the middle of preparing for my lecture/seminar tomorrow, I need to jot this down, or I may forget.
After my Bible reading this morning, I wrote down this verse, "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows" (Luke 12:7). It's not the first time I read this passage. Yet, God's word brings comfort every time. Not only that, time after time God gives me his Word right before I learn about some possible changes. In fact I learned of some impending changes later today, and I immediately thought of the verse I read. It's not a coincidence -- God is simply truly real and truly loving to assure me ahead of time.
I wrote about sparrow before, and I also wrote about being anxious (probably more than once). Guess what, it's going to be a recurring theme in this blog as well as throughout my life. If you get tired of reading it, then start to appreciate how patient God is with me (and with us)!

End of day, 10/22/08
Even though I didn't feel like it, I tried to do a good job today as I remember Michael Chang sharing how he persisted even though he thought he was going to lose in the 1989 French Open. He said, "one point at a time, and then one game at a time." For me: one lecture at a time, one day at a time, can't think too far ahead. As it turned out, I was excited about the lecture, I had a good time with my class, I was joyful (and helpful) towards people I met at school. Good job!

How I needed this reminder today! It has been a worrisome time since we moved to Scotland, counting every pence we are going to spend, or try not to spend. Worry if we are going to make it through the three years of study, worry if we are robbing Kioni of her opportunity of continuing with learning the piano (because of our finance, or lack of, I should say). Your entry reminds me that God is bigger that all these worries I have. God indeed knows exactly what we need, and He has been faithful over and over in how He provides. Why doubt? Thanks Grace.
For some reason, I thought missionaries are super-human and free of mundane worry. Thanks for sharing. Praying for you.
