不要中計

剛讀 C.S. Lewis 的 The Screwtape Letters中的一段, 是虛構的魔鬼老前輩Screwtape 對一初入行的小魔鬼Wormwood這樣教導去誤導基督徒：

"The simplest [way] is to to turn their [i.e. the believers'] gaze away from Him [i.e. God] towards themselves. Keep them watching their own minds and trying to produce feelings there by the action of their own wills. When they meant to ask Him for charity, let them, instead, start trying to manufacture charitable feelings for themselves and not notice that this is what they are doing. When they meant to pray for courage, let them really be trying to feel brave. When they say they are praying for forgiveness, let them be trying to feel forgiven. “

多陰險的計謀！

假如發覺自己對教會需要冷漠，
假如發覺自己對事奉沒有“呼召”，
假如發覺自己缺乏事奉能力、恩賜，
假如發覺自己對肢體缺乏容忍，
假如發覺自己缺乏愛心、信心、喜樂，
全都可以求神。

不要想靠自己去製造它們出來，不要中 Screwtape 的計。

"So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that's where the action is. See things from his perspective."

人到無求品自高？ Nah. 這要看是求甚麼...
