In front of the Chinese Embassy in LA
In the past two weeks, newspaper and internet have made available plenty of archival materials to provide glimpses of what happened at the Tiananmen Square 20 years ago. There are also updates of various student leaders, including the sacrifices they've made, the hardship they were forced to endure in the aftermath of the event, and the life they're now leading. I so admire their courage and perseverance, and yet my heart also aches. All I could think of is to pray that they'll one day know the one true, just, holy, good, loving God (if they haven't already). Let this God guide their path and grant them an abundant, blessed life.
I turned to the Bible, and the daily reading passage taken from
Titus 3:4-6 about the goodness and loving kindness of Jesus our Savior echoed my thought and inspired my prayer for them:
Dear God, show them your goodness and loving kindness. Save them because of your mercy, through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Pour out your saving grace on them generously so that they might become heirs having the hope of eternal life, a far more excellent life that they are yet to know and enjoy.

No true peace can come to those who have experience this first hand without knowing the only God who can give such peace. Amen, sister.
